Aitana Bonmatí and Lamine Yamal have received the Barça Players Award, which recognises them as the FC Barcelona player with the most fair play in the 2023-24 season. The players received the award from the president of the Players' Association, Juan Manuel Asensi, accompanied by the directors Rafael Zuviría and Antonio Olmo, at an event held on Tuesday 19 November and which was also attended by FC Barcelona directors Joan Soler and Xavier Puig.
With this distinction, FC Barcelona Players Association has been recognising the first team player who has shown the most fair play on and off the pitch during the season since 2010. This is not so much the footballing quality that is valued, but rather the human quality of the athlete, his relationship with the fans, the referees, the opposing teams and the environment in general. The Association's own members are the ones who, with their vote, decide the winners at the end of the season, a voting system that Juan Manuel Asensi highlighted during the presentation: "it is a choice made by the same former teammates who have worn the same Barça shirt as you, give it the importance it deserves."
Aitana Bonmatí (Sant Pere de Ribes, 1998) receives the Barça Players' Award for the fourth consecutive time. The double Ballon d'Or (2023 and 2024) continues to show great commitment to the Club, the country and numerous social causes. Despite his youth, Lamine Yamal (Esplugues de Llobregat, 2007) shows great control of his temperament on the pitch, staying away from controversy and becoming a mirror for thousands of young people everywhere.
