This Wednesday, May 11, the Barça Players Award campaign begins, to choose the FC Barcelona player with the most fair play of the season. From today until May 25, all the culer fans can vote for their favourite footballers through the Club's website . A jersey signed by Frenkie de Jong and Aitana Bonmatí, the two winners of the last edition of the Barça Players Award, will be raffled among all the people who take part – in the previous edition there were 5,000.
The voting period will end on Wednesday, May 25, and between the 3 male and 3 female players with the most votes, a jury will decide at the end of the month the name of the two winners in this edition.
An award that distinguishes values
The Barça Players Award highlights the values and fair play shown by Barça players on and off the pitch. Attitude, respect towards the rival team, dealing with the fans or their commitment to the Club are aspects that throughout the history of the award have been taken into account when designating the players who have received it. This award was launched in the 2009-10 season, and Bojan Krkic was the first winner. Since then, Aitana Bonmatí, Frenkie de Jong, Xavi Hernández, Andrés Iniesta, Javier Mascherano, Leo Messi, Alexia Putellas, Carlos Puyol, Ivan Rakitic, Sergi Roberto and Marc André Ter Stegen have also received the statuette.
