The FC Barcelona Players' Association has just launched Players, a new website set up with the Club's Digital Area, with information on 2,800 former and current FC Barcelona players, in what is the first database devoted entirely to former FC Barcelona players.
The portal, which can be browsed in Catalan, Spanish and English, provides information on 2,803 players from the men's and women's teams. Each file has statistical information on the player and his/her sporting career. Furthermore, the website provides access to all the official and friendly matches played by the men's senior team from the 1970-71 season to the present day, as well as all the squads in the Club's history and a map showing where all the players come from. This information is complemented by an 'Ephermeris' section, with over 120 years of information on FC Barcelona's history and players alike.
La font primària d’informació per a dur a terme el projecte Players ha estat el Diccionari de Jugadors del FC Barcelona, editat pel FC Barcelona i l’Agrupació l’any 2015. Per a mantenir la uniformitat en el criteri en la creació de la web s’han considerat partits oficials aquells que formen part de competicions organitzades per la Federació Espanyola de Futbol, la Federació Catalana de Futbol, la UEFA i la FIFA. Pel que fa als partits no oficials del primer equip, s’han comptabilitzat aquells en què va participar el primer equip o com a mínim quatre futbolistes del primer equip.
Les dades dels blaugranes en actiu s’actualitzen a temps real mitjançant el portal de recol·lecció d’estadístiques OPTA. L’objectiu del projecte és convertir aquest web en l’espai de referència a internet de l’afició que busqui informació sobre el jugadors i jugadores de la història del Barça, i per tant, estarà sempre obert a aportacions per a millorar el contingut i aportar noves dades actualitzades.
