The FC Barcelona Players Association has resumed "Coach Values", its corporate Training programme for High Performance Teams. On September 21st, after an interlude of several months, the Association organised a new session of this programme. The training is managed by the Marketing Department and focuses mainly on the knowledge of the work methodology of FC Barcelona and how it can be applied in the world of business management, which is the main focus of companies that contract this service.
Another new feature of this season's Coach Values is that each session is adapted to the work objectives of the client company, offering a customised solution. Former FC Barcelona players Jofre Mateu, Jordi Martínez, Carlos Peña and Jordi López led the day, which on this occasion was attended by 18 participants from Erste, a financial services provider from Central Europe who had trained with the IESE business school. "Coach Values" was the first training programme that the company had attended in person since the pandemic, and it marked an emblematic ending to their training.
Leadership, teamwork and soft skills
Using the example of La Masia academy, "Coach Values" explains how the Club promotes the concepts of identity, company culture, strategy and even economy. Former footballers, or coaches as they are known during the training, explain in a theoretical session how FC Barcelona players think and work in training sessions, going from the person (player) to the group, and from the group to the team. Ultimately, it is the team which is more important than the individual. This knowledge is put into practice on the pitch, where the participants, dressed as Barça footballers, live the experience of working on skills such as communication, leadership, teamwork and soft skills to ensure that their work team becomes a truly high-performance team.
