BPA is dresses long to celebrate the 60 years of its creation

Barça Players Association commemorated the 60 years of its creation with a dinner that was made on Friday 15th november in Barcelona. The Presidential counselor of Catalan Government, Meritxell Budó, presided over a party in which the protagonists were FC Barcelona former players, and where they remembered the association’s past, founded in 1959. In his speech, the president of BPA, Ramon Alfonseda, stated that “the future of the Association goes through rejuvenation”, and invited new generations of explayers to soak in the values of great personalities of the association such as Kubala, Gràcia, Zaldúa or Gensana. At the same time, he recalled the support that the entity has received from FC Barcelona, especially in the last 40 years, from the presidency of Josep Lluís Núñez to Josep Maria Bartomeu. 
 
 
In fact, the president of FC Barcelona expressed his satisfaction with the grouping character of the association: “You’ve grown up with players from all the Club’s categories”, while also remembering joint initiatives within the association. On the other hand, Meritxell Budó put the teamwork and the solidarity, aspects that during the act left on more than one occasion, as an “example of values that share Catalonia, Barça and FPA”. The counsellor, who has sports competence, claimed “more viability of women’s sport in terms of sponsors and media visibility”.
 
The dinner had the presence of 350 people, among which were the next Barça explayers: Carles Rexach, Josep Fusté, Robert Fernández, Quique Costas, Paco Clos, Josep Moratalla, Tente Sánchez, José Mari Bakero, Eusebio Sacristán, Juan Carlos Unzué ,Ramon Maria Calderé, Paco Martínez, Pepito Ramos, Josep Palau, Josep Franch, Pere Valentí Mora, Ferran Olivella and Samuel Okunowo.
