

The president of the Barça Players Association, Ramon Alfonseda, received this Wednesday, the 26th of June, the Golden Cross of the Merit of Hungary, at an event that was held at the President Suñol Box in FC Barcelona Stadium. The Hungarian government has awarded this distinction for the contribution of the Barça Players Association to the preservation of the memory of the former Hungarian players of FC Barcelona: Kubala, Kocsis and Czibor. The sons of these former players, also present at the event, closely followed the words of Hungary's consul in Barcelona, Barnabás Kovács, in which he reviewed the projects in which ABJ and FC Barcelona collaborated, such as the promotion of the statue of Kubala on the esplanade of the Stadium or the documentary "Hungarian for Barça". In his speech of acceptance, Ramon Alfonseda wanted to share the award with all the members of the board of directors - many present at the event - and recalled that Kubala had been president of the Association, with a personality that I went far beyond the soccer player.
For his part, the director of FC Barcelona, responsible for relations with the ABJ, Pau Vilanova, referred to the Association as a clubhouse for the preservation of the club's historical memory.
