The Association's Annual Dinner brings together 300 people

Hugo "Cholo" Sotil was the guest of honor at one of the most traditional events of the Association.

The FC Barcelona Players' Association held its Annual Dinner this Saturday, November 23, one of its traditional events, which on this occasion brought together nearly 300 attendees. Among them was the iconic striker Hugo "Cholo" Sotil, guest of honor of the Association, who received recognition from the president, Juan Manuel Asensi, the vice president of FC Barcelona, ​​​​Elena Fort, and the director responsible for the Social Area, Josep Ignasi Macià. The former Peruvian player had formed one of the best attacks of all time in the history of Barça, together with Johan Cruyff, Asensi and Carles Rexach.

In his speech, Juan Manuel Asensi thanked the professional football players for their financial contribution to the Association: "Thanks to them, the Association can implement its programme of activities and support for the 'former footballer of the Club'. The president also stated that "I feel that the Association is in the hearts of all the culés, and I see it when our teams play inside and outside of Catalonia, and when we go to the Peñas or have talks with young footballers from La Masia". For her part, Elena Fort recognised the role of the Association in the history of FC Barcelona, ​​​​and that is even more highlighted in the framework of the 125th anniversary of the Club and in the slogan chosen for the occasion: We want the Ball.

The dinner was attended by the directors of the Association Pere Valentí Mora, Rafael Zuviría, Esteban Vigo, Antonio Olmo, Félix Palomares, Julio Alberto Moreno and Josep Maria Comadevall. Numerous former first team players also attended, such as Pello María Artola, Salva García, Jaume Huguet, Guillermo Amor, Joan Estella, Quique Estebaranz, Bartolomé Paredes, Ismael Comas, Samuel Okunowo, Paco Nieto, Paco Martínez, Ramon Alfonseda, Pepito Ramos, Carles Rexach and Ricardo Serna. At an institutional level, the former president of the Club, Joan Gaspar, and the president of Barça Atlètic, Jordi Casals, were also present. The comedian Pep Plaza was in charge of the final performance of the evening.
