A historic trip full of women former Barça players
The FC Barcelona Players Association organized a trip for around twenty former players of the Club to atend to the Champions League final this Saturday, May 25 in Bilbao. Among the members of the Association's expedition were nine historical Barça Women's players, who had played since 1970 and during the first years of the section. The group vibrated with the rest of 40,000 culés with the goals from Aitana and Alexia and that ended up giving the Club the third Champions League, in a legendary final against Olympique de Lyon (2-0). These were not the only former players who supported the team in San Mamés, as other Barça explayers traveled on their own.

On Saturday morning the center of Bilbao was already Barça. The main tourist spots of the city, especially the Old Town, the Estuary and the surroundings of the Guggenheim Museum were filled with culé fans. An atmosphere that even surprised Maria Teresa Andreu, a Club player between 1971 and 1981, who is convinced that “a displacement as big as this gave the players much more strength to win the final.”
In the hours before the match, Doña Casilda Park became the meeting point for the Blaugrana fans. And that was where the former players experienced one of the most emotional moments of the day, when pioneers and youngest players took the stage to greet everyone and sing a cheering song. Africa Ocaña, FC Barcelona player between 1989 and 1998 and winner of the first Barça Queen's Cup, highlights precisely "the great atmosphere of camaraderie between former players of different generations, an even greater joy for having won the Champions League."
