Ter Stegen and Alexia Putellas receive the Barça Players Award

The association has also announced the special mention of fair play to Quique Costas

The players of FC Barcelona, ​​Marc André Ter Stegen and Alexia Putellas, have received this Friday at noon the Barça Players Award for their fair play last season. The president of the Barça Players Association, Ramon Alfonseda and the president of FC Barcelona, ​​Josep Maria Bartomeu, have been in charge of delivering the awards, accompanied by Javier Bordas, executive of the Club responsible for the first football team, and Maria Teixidor, responsible for women's football. Pau Vilanova, executive responsible for relations with the Association, also attended. It is the tenth edition of this distinction promoted by the Association and, for the first time, includes the female category.

The president of the Association, Ramon Alfonseda, has highlighted Marc André Ter Stegen's integration beyond Barça, to the city of Barcelona and to Catalonia. Referring to Alexia Putellas said that "she is a true representative of Barça DNA and a reference for young women". Alfonseda has finished his speech towards the players saying "we feel very proud every time you come out on the pitch".

In the men's category, Ter Stegen is the ninth winner of this award, which last year won Ivan Rakitic and Xavi Hernández, by winning twice, is the one with more awards of this kind. In the women's category, Alexia Putellas is the first player to obtain it.

The president of Barça, Josep Maria Bartomeu, has highlighted the special mention to Quique Costas saying that he has been part of the generation that as a children could enjoy Quique as a footballer and that “we have to recognize the legendary players that many of the young people don't know ”.

At the event, held at the Auditori 1899, a large representation of members of the Association and representatives of the jury of the Prize attended. Representing the ABJ, the Vice Presidents Felix Barrado and Jofre Mateu have attended the prize-giving.

The honorific Fair Play Award was given to Quique Costas on thursday 30th of January before the Barça vs Leganés Copa del Rey's Match, in the presidential box.
